I'm sure that many of you have received some colorful and creative mail that my opponent is sending about me. These mailings draw a clear contrast between the style and substance offered by my opponent and me. My goal over the course of this campaign has been to make contact with you so that you have the opportunity to learn as much about me, my ideas and my positions as you want to know. It has also been my goal to get to know you, so that I know what issues and ideas are important to the people of the 16th district.

I want to give you reason and purpose to vote for Kristy Manning rather than reason not to vote for my opponent. It takes no skill to Photoshop a stolen image of a candidate, degrade the picture quality so they look bad and plug that image into a generic piece with the same tired meme. I do not use these tactics because I feel they are a disservice to you. I have sent out a couple mailings which focus on my opponent's record, but they are all tasteful and use a picture of him which has been doctored in no way. I want to draw contrast between my opponent and me while being respectful of him as a person.

Over the course of this campaign I have spoken to thousands of people in the 16th district. I have heard many people concerned about the rising costs of college, healthcare and energy, and the fear that they could lose their jobs due to the current state of the economy. I want you to know that I hear you and that I am dedicated to going to Jefferson City to represent you and I am committed to getting results. I hope that before you vote on Tuesday, November 4th, you have gotten a chance to meet me and my opponent so that you have the opportunity to get to know us and make a decision for yourself. The direction of Missouri depends on having people committed to good public policy... It matters who is serving us in Jefferson City!
