With fifteen years of professional experience in senior management, creative media communications, sales and marketing, Kristy Manning has forged a strong reputation for leading highly motivated teams that attain and exceed their goals. As Director of West Coast Sales for BBC Worldwide (British Broadcasting Corporation), Kristy managed the sales team and technical staff for the stock footage licensing division. Over a five year period she led her team to exceed their revenue goals by an average of 22% per year. She trained and supported her team, negotiated complex licensing agreements and legal contracts, and oversaw high profile client projects such as The 11th Hour, a 92-minute documentary produced and narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, and The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones DVD bonus material consisting of ninety-four historical documentaries created by Lucasfilm.
When the BBC launched a new brand identity for BBC Library Sales worldwide, Kristy was tasked with the responsibility to enhance the user experience and she contributed to the vision and execution of the new website. She was part of a two-person team that identified and brokered a royalty free footage collection which is a key component in BBC Motion Gallery's e-commerce offering. Kristy fostered strategic relationships with blue chip companies such as Apple, Google, Universal Studios, Sony Pictures, and Peachpit. Her strong management skills and ability to solidify partnerships were recognized when she was named BBC Motion Gallery Person of the Year for the US.
As the project manager, Kristy co-led a DVD production for Glencoe/McGraw Hill producing 99 5-minute educational videos to accompany a new health textbook that is used by millions of school children. The project required the creation of original artwork, extensive archival research and video editing of both BBC broadcast/news and CBS News footage with the goal of matching content to specific curriculum. She was also credited for creative and marketing collaboration on a large scale project with Apple involving the migration of the entire BBC Motion Gallery online library (over 600,000 hours of footage) to QuickTime 7.
Kristy has worked internationally. She took her skills, product knowledge and work experience overseas to Europe where she managed sales for the Nordic region for AltaVista, Stockholm. She worked as part of a cohesive team developing and executing a sales strategy that doubled sales revenue within eight months. She again worked abroad on projects for CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research located near Geneva. Her projects include a comprehensive online Newcomer Welcome Center and an ambitious new brand strategy for the ATLAS Experiment (a particle physics experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN). Kristy and her creative team developed an enriched user-friendly landing page design, an improved image identity, and a plan for developing strategic relationships that amplifies their scientific outreach and education initiatives.
With strong management skills and strategic relationships backing her, Kristy was chosen to represent BBC Motion Gallery as a panelist on HD production for stock libraries at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival. As an acknowledged expert in her field, she was chosen to participate in numerous press interviews for major technology and stock footage trade magazines such as MacWorld, Playback, Shoot, Film & Video, and Boards Magazine.
